Flexible Care

Bringing up a child with a disability can be very rewarding but it can also be tiring and stressful and sometimes parents need a break.

We provide support workers who care for a child or  young person with disabilities or additional needs  on a one to one basis.

These are generally for short periods, 2-5 hours, but can be longer. This service is flexible and designed to suit the family needs. Support workers can care for children at activities in the community or within the home whilst the parents or carers go out. This service is usually funded by the local authority.

Our credentials

Ryedale Special Families is a registered service provider with North Yorkshire County Council and the Care Quality Commission and is contracted by local authority commissioners to provide
support to families.
We are regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission, the last unannounced inspection was in March 2018 at which we received a 'Good' rating. You can find more information by visiting the Care Quality Commission website. In order to receive this support your family will need to be assessed by Social Care. To do this you will need to call the NYCC Customer Services Centre or we can make a referral for you.
