Ryedale Special Families employs Support Workers to work with children, young people and young adults with disabilities and additional needs. Support is in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, you will be working in families' homes and within the community.
Hours of work can include early mornings, evenings, Saturdays and school holidays are particularly busy. The ability to drive and access to a vehicle is usually required, due to the rural nature of Ryedale. Travel time is paid for from home and mileage costs are covered (after 15 miles)
This is your opportunity to work for a well regarded local charity who makes a difference to the lives of disabled children. We work with children aged 0 to 25 years, with a wide range of disabilities including learning disabilities, autism and complex medical needs. We strive to improve families' lives by providing a quality care service that supports their needs and our support workers work in the home and in the community, helping young people reach their potential.
Previous care experience is helpful but not essential. Working with children and young people is helpful but not essential. We are looking for people with caring natures with a variety of life experiences. Some of our work is with medically complex young people, some of it is with young people with challenging behaviour and this work is paid at a higher rate.
